We found the BW Canada Hotel Rome Italy thanks to hotel reviews on the internet and our stay was outstanding! The room was spotless and very large for European and Italian standards. There was a separate room with a desk and a love seat. The bath was large and well stocked with toiletries, even some slippers! We had a small balcony overlooking a courtyard which supplied nice fresh air and was handy to check the weather in Rome before heading out.

Hot breakfast was tasty and has something for everyone. A great way to start a day of sightseeing in Rome! We also ordered toasted sandwiches and a really good gelato from room service after we had a late tour of Rome historical center. Best western (BW) Canada Hotel Rome have the best prices in Rome! At the hotel bar they have slices of sandwiches and chips and really good cookies, a nice surprise after a really long day of sightseeing in Rome.

The best Rome tip I can give you, buy Rick Steve's Rome book and follow it to the T. This book on Rome was worth its weight in gold. Have a great Rome trip and Thanks BW Hotel Canada for an excellent stay.

Canada Hotel Rome Italy

We are not easily pleased but couldn't find fault with the BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy in any way whatsoever. As our stay was a romantic trip celebration we requested a romantic room on a high floor with a good view. We got all 3! I think we were upgraded us to a junior suite because we had a beautiful large room with a seating area as well.

The decor of the whole hotel was immaculate with some lovely original features, like the antique style lift. It was spotlessly clean and the hotel staff could not have been more professional - always friendly and extremely helpful. The reception staff were always willing to help with advice to get to any particular Rome attraction or anything else you may want to ask them. The hotel is not in the smartest looking area, hence the price, but it is extremely well located, only a 5 minute walk to Termini Rail and Bus Station. We were close to all Rome public transport, the Metro and the Buses which were very frequent. A cheap and a very efficient way to get to any part of Rome. Bus numbers 40 and 64 take you to the majority of the Rome tourist attractions, and keep to the main roads through the center of Rome. We got the 'Terravision' shuttle bus to and from Ciampino airport which took 30 to 40 minutes. It cost 24 Euros for two of us return (we booked it Online), I would highly recommended as it's a quick, efficient and easy way to travel from Ciampino to Termini Station! (You are picked up right outside Ciampino airport arrivals area and dropped off at Termini and only a 5 minute walk to the hotel).

One hidden little gem of a Rome restaurant is the L'Archetto in Via Germanico, just around the corner from the Trevi fountain. The staff are really friendly and the pasta is fresh and tasty and around 40 pasta dishes to choose from as well as pizzas and various meat dishes. The menu is extensive, I would highly recommend a trio of pastas (or the chef's choice if you ask him). It's not a heavy dish and very tasty, a wonderful way to try different pastas and flavors of Roman food culture. The house wine is also good too. We enjoyed 2 starters, 2 main courses, white wine and a coffee and it came to only 52 Euros which for Rome restaurant prices is excellent value and quality. A very typically Italian restaurant, small and cozy.

One tip on the trips around Rome, we purchased a Viator tour for the Colosseum, Palatine Area and the Roman Forum, very handy to book in advance, saves your precious time in Rome as you don't have to queue.
We hope your trip is as good as ours!
P. S. There is a great selection in the beautiful light and airy breakfast room including juice, tea, fantastic coffee, cereals, fruit, yogurt, delicious pastries, toast and jam / marmalade, cold meats, cheese, hot egg omelet / scrambled eggs and bacon.

On our last day, we were toured the Colosseum from 9-30am to 12-30am and they happily allowed us to stay until 2pm at no extra charge, which meant we could freshen up before spending a relaxing afternoon in one of the beautiful Roman piazzas sipping wine, eating pasta and taking in all the street performers, artists and people watching! A perfect end to a perfect Rome trip which we managed to pack so much into.

We stayed for 4 nights in Rome at the Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome. On our first visit to Rome we wanted to see as much of Rome as possible during our stay. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and stylish. breakfast was delicious with varied Italian treats. The staff in the breakfast room were friendly warm and enjoyed being cheerful and hospitable to all the guests. The lobby was small and intimate, and Edwin was an amicable barkeeper who made wonderful coffees and drinks. The Best Western Hotel Canada was conveniently located near a subway stop (Castro Pretorio) and the main train station (Termini) and several bus stops. The rooms were well insulated and very quiet.

I enjoyed the friendly and personal advice given by Vincenzo and Gianfranco at the front desk. It was a joy to begin and end each day with a chat with these two gentlemen! I highly recommend the Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a convenient location in Rome where service and good hospitality are important. I was sorry to leave on our day of departure.

We stayed in Room 424 Jan 2008. Lots of antiques, a terra cotta tiled floor of a spacious room, with 2 nice beds, ample outlets, TV with many channels in several languages, 2 windows (corner room I think) 1 great view 1 ok. Very nice bathroom-with tub/shower, plenty of amenities, perfect armoire with plenty of space to hang clothes, including a large safe. On departure we left very early so they gave us a "special breakfast" which included 2 oranges, 2 apples, chocolate croissants, coffee/tea-all included in price.

They reserved a superior room for 102 Euros. Fantastic service, very friendly and professional. 2 great Rome restaurants nearby, a pizzeria where you walk down stairs to access and a large restaurant with a very large menu on the corner. The Hotel is 1 block from a subway stop which will get you most anywhere in Rome. Note: You need to change at Termini to get to the Vatican. We bought a 24 hour pass (a day pass) as it does not work the next morning.

Area of Rome is quiet and safe and away from the tourists. Only a 500 m walk to the Termini train station. Great direct nonstop train from there to main Rome International airport (Leonardo da Vinci - Fiumicino).

-- Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy--

We chose the Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome after researching many hotel reviews for Rome and the BW canada Rome and we were not disappointed. We can only reiterate what many have already said: friendly staff: well sized clean rooms: an excellent breakfast with a huge choice; nice, quiet bar area with very reasonable prices (and cappuccinos that were heavenly after a day of walking through Rome) and a great location near to Termini and metro.

We visited during the out of season in Rome and stayed in room 412, a lovely room with period furniture, but being a little too close to the lift, it may be a bit noisy when the hotel is busy.
On rainy days (yes, it does rain in Rome!) reception loaned of umbrellas (a nice touch). A good range of Rome restaurants are within easy walking distance. We love walking around the places we visited to soak up the atmosphere and see all those quirky little places that you miss out on on 'official' Rome group tours but, if you need good public transport, then the Rome metro is almost on your doorstep and can get you reasonably close to all the main sites (Vatican, Colosseum, Forum, Cathedral -- San Giavanni in Laterano). Apart from the area around the Domus Aurea, we felt safe when walking around Rome our guide book did say that Domus Aurea was a place best avoided after dark!) Anyway, all in all, we had a great time and our special thanks to Vincenzo and Massimo. I'm sure we will be back to Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy.

Canada Hotel Rome

Believe everything that has been written by the other reviewers about the Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy. We just returned from an 8 night stay based on the reviews here. A very charming elegant Rome hotel, spotlessly clean in a very convenient area of Rome. The front desk staff were always extremely helpful and friendly as were the bar staff. Their recommendation for dinner at the nearby Trattoria Leoni d' Abruzzo was spot on. The sheets and pillowcases were changed regularly during our stay in Rome and all the towels were changed daily. The only tiny concern we have is with the head waitress in the breakfast room, we noticed that she would immediately offer coffees to her fellow Italians (we understand Italian perfectly), even the ones entering the dining room after we were already seated, but she would ignore us completely. All in all an excellently run hotel in a great location close to metro and buses.

-- Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy --

I stayed at the Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy for 3 nights. The hotel is in a good location -- easy to walk to Termini station, but far enough away to give the feel of a better quality location of Termini. The hotel was very quiet and I slept well. My hotel room was compact, with a mixture of "old" furniture with modern fittings (eg new flat screen TV). It had a bath tub which I appreciated. The room had an excellent safe (although it took me a while to find it behind a painting!) The hotel is very near many Rome restaurants. One night when I popped out for dinner it was raining and the hotel loaned me an umbrella.. The staff at reception were always professional and very helpful. The bar staff were particularly friendly and free snacks were offered to patrons. The price of drinks in the bar were reasonable for Rome drink prices. The hotel has a free Wireless internet connection (you can get your password from reception).

Officially the Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy is a three star Rome hotel, but PLEASE NOTE it was superior to many of the four star hotels I stayed in while traveling around Italy. It was not budget (A$278 a night) in high season, but I will certainly recommend it.

-- Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy --

Everything all the Rome hotel reviews have said about this place is correct. The hotel is comfortable, clean, pleasant, and low-key - a pleasure. The snacks in the afternoon and evening are a nice touch, and the lounge is comfortable and pleasant. The hotel room we had was a very reasonable size, and in the off-season, a bargain for Rome hotels at less than 100 Euros a night. The breakfast buffet is top-notch. The only very minor thing - there was no fridge in the hotel room.

The immediate neighborhood and around Termini is not full of interesting Rome sights, but perfectly agreeable, with a number of delicious and inexpensive trattorias around the corner (even the slightly dodgy looking "pizza del secolo" around the corner turns out some of the most delicious pizza I have ever eaten!). The location is really incredibly convenient given the Rome metro station is only a few steps away. The proximity of Termini station (either one metro stop or a few minutes' walking) is great because you can get a train or bus to literally anywhere in Rome from there.

All in all, an excellent choice for a hotel in Rome, and just to reiterate, the Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy looks and feels 100% Italian, nothing to do with Canada other than the name!

Review of BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy: location is excellent, near the trains, buses...

-- Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy --

We arrived from Paris at Fiumicino Airport in Rome and took the bus to Termini Station. We walked ten minutes to the hotel. The taxi drivers at Termini are terrible, keep away from them, they wanted to charge 40 Euros because it was raining. We waited a little for the rain to stop.

When I made our reservation at Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy I told them about the marriage and our honeymoon trip in Rome. The room was terrific and there was champagne and chocolates waiting for us. The location is excellent, near the trains, buses (on termini and on the next block), metro (100 m). It was very easy to discover the city, mainly by metro. We bought a special Metro pass valid for 3 days around Rome and for buses and the metro. Bus is better because Rome is beautiful and needs to be seen. We visited every thing: Fontana di Trevi, piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Steps), Roman Colosseum, Vatican, Tiber, Pantheon, Gianicolo, St Peters, Capitoline hill and museums, Circus Maximus etc. Use buses and metro, you don't need taxis.

The Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy is an excellent hotel and above its three star rating. Our hotel room was very well decorated with a spacious bathroom. We asked for tea making facilities on arrival and for daily (which was plentiful and bought to our room). Everywhere was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The staff were so helpful and professional. Clean towels were given daily. Breakfast was excellent, buffet style but waitresses served tea and coffee which was re-filled with smiles! The bar served lovely snacks each evening and drink and sandwich prices were very reasonable for Rome standards. The hotel is an excellent choice for exploring Rome with the Metro stop around the corner only two minutes walk. Buy a Rome pas for a few days travel and just hop on and off at the right stop. We stayed in a non-smoking room which was very quiet. Close to the hotel are various cafes and restaurants, very convenient. We hope to return to Rome and would definitely stay at the Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy again...

-- Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy --

We stayed at Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy this summer (2008) during the first leg of our holiday in Rome and Italy. We wanted an affordable secure and safe base for a family so we could see all the major sites in Rome with ease.

The hotel is only 500m from Termini and when we arrived in Ciampino airport we took the express bus direct to the station and made the short walk to the Hotel. There is a Rome metro station just behind the hotel so its very easy to get around Rome and there are convenience shops nearby. The staff are very welcoming and the hotel rooms well maintained. We stayed in a large family room with a nice bathroom. The hotel bar is very friendly and comfortable but unfortunately there is no restaurant. In the immediate area there are quite a few nice Rome restaurants though and although the neighbourhood is not particularly typical of the authentic parts of Rome, however the food is excellent. The breakfast was very nice and the dining room was very light and comfortable. A small criticism would be that some days there were not enough staff so you had to wait a long time to get a cup of tea or coffee. But overall a very pleasant stay at the Hotel Canada in Rome.

-- Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy --

We had a great stay for 3 nights in Rome, traveling with 3 other couples. We were all super satisfied with our rooms, hotel location and hotel check in. The bathrooms were fantastic with many nice sundries supplied. Beds were comfortable with extra pillows and blankets if needed. We arrived early and our rooms were not ready, but they took our luggage and kept it in a secure room. When we returned during the day, our bags had been moved into our rooms.

Internet was free, a safe was in the room, if you don't see it ask, it is hidden! Breakfast was fantastic with a variety of dishes: eggs, meats and cheese, fruit, cereal, pastries and breads. It was the best breakfast set up of all the hotels we stayed at in Italy. Around 6 in the evening there were snacks, cookies, meats, cheese, nuts etc in the lounge area. It was very nice to come back after a day of touring Rome and sit and talk, sip wine and have a snack before dinner. There was also wine tasting!

The staff gave us suggestions of places to go for dinner, and one was a real good choice, about a block away. The staff was amiable and spoke excellent English. There was always somebody a to help, order taxi, or make arrangements for transportation to the airport. Nice hotel, we very happy with our choice!

-- Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy--

We have just returned from a week in Rome and chose the Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy based on hotel reviews for Rome. We were not disappointed. The hotel is 5 star posing as 3 star. We chose an upgraded room, which was well worth the extra money, it was large, with a queen size bed, sitting area, plus views across the city of Rome! Housekeeping service excellent, and the decor and furnishings (Room 512) wonderful. Bar service was brilliant with free appetizers and on our last night there was free wine (Novello - which is the Italian equivalent of Beaujolais). Bar prices were cheap for Rome. Massimo is an extremely polite and endearing Italian barman and hotel assistant. He's always smiling! Concierge service was first class - they all speak excellent English and remember you very quickly, having your key ready for you as you approach the desk. Breakfast is good and we had a good variety of foods to choose from - something for everyone I would say.

Getting out and about Rome from the hotel is easy, everything is just across the road to the Metro station - giving you access to historic Rome. We bought 7 day tickets which gave us unlimited access for buses and underground. Don't forget you need to validate your ticket as you get onto the Rome buses by using the yellow machines on board. The best bus to use from the hotel is the 492 (the stop is just around the corner from the hotel). It goes to the Vatican City (St Peter's Square) the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and Pantheon ( a must-see at night when the square is all lit up ).

Eating out in Rome is great wherever you are in Rome, but it can get expensive nearer the major Rome tourist sites. We chose to eat near the hotel and loved the 'Taverna Pretoriana' (opposite Mama Angela's) on Via Palestro, a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. It's very local Italian and gets busy with Italian businessmen, families and has a fabulous atmosphere. Food is reasonably priced and it is a good quality. Some of the other Roman Trattorias close by sell cheaper but poorer quality meals. At Pretoriana you get a free starter of Bruschetta, and a complimentary glass of their own Limoncello - nice touches.

A word of warning about 'Terravision' bus company who operate a transfer service to/from Ciampino airport to Termini rail station. Their service on the morning we arrived in Rome was abysmal - there were about 200 people waiting for their shuttle buses when we joined the queue. The Terravision staff were very dismissive when asked how long the buses would be. They kept shrugging their shoulders and saying '5 minutes' or '10 minutes' - we waited an hour! The organisation was very poor, and we have since found that you can leave the Ciampino arrivals building and take an ordinary shuttle bus which costs less than Terravision.

Ciampino Airport = chaos! You queue, and wait to check in, you queue and wait again to go through security (which takes ages), you queue and wait again at Passport Control and hope they have more than one person on duty, then you queue again at the gates (if you are lucky you can get one of the few seats available while waiting to board the buses to the plane). Watch out for the people who short-change you at the coffee bar on the other side of security. They did it to us and some other people who were on our flight. It may only have been a euro each time, but think how many travelers pass through this area and buy food and drink from them. Nice little scam! Very few people notice they are short changed as you are so easily distracted by the other things going on in this area. Check your change before you walk away!
Highlights of our holiday in Rome - Best Western Hotel Canada, The Sistine Chapel, Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon.

-- Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy --

We stayed at the Best Western Hotel Canada following our Mediterranean cruise for 2 nights. We stayed in an upgraded clean and comfortable room with a small balcony that overlooked a courtyard. The hotel is in a location away from most of the Rome tourist stops, but close to the hop on hop off Rome Touristic bus stop. We took advantage of this and rode the Rome tour bus everywhere we needed to go. It was a good deal, enjoyable and a safe way to travel through Rome.

The area near the hotel is fine and we felt safe wandering around. We liked the internet cafe nearby with reasonable rates and all 3 Rome restaurants we ate at near the hotel were very good. We had stayed at the Hotel Antiche figure in Venice before our cruise and the staff at that hotel were also fantastic! I guess the Hotel Antiche Figure staff increased our expectations from Rome. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

-- Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy --

We booked all of our hotels during a recent 5-week visit to Italy based on hotels reviews of Rome and Italy on the internet. During the seven days we spent in Rome, we stayed at Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy. I was somewhat reluctant to book this Rome hotel given its name and the fact that I'm from Canada. We were looking for a European and Roman experience, not Canada, but we were completely won over by the hotel reviews and were delighted. Of all the hotels we stayed at in Italy, the Hotel Canada was the best. Our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean with all the creature comforts. The double windows and shutters kept out all the traffic noise at night. The staff went out of their way to assist with everything and all speak English. Their continental breakfast was by far the best we experienced in Europe and the complimentary snacks in the bar area in the late afternoon/evening were much appreciated (and also offered an opportunity to meet fellow travelers in Rome). The location of the hotel is ideal and its high rating is well deserved.

-- Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy --

We booked the Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy in something of a hurry, having left it a little late to book for our holiday in Rome and Italy. We were pleased with the hotel reviews on this web-site, however, there was a hint of nerves as we have had variable experiences of Best Western hotels in the UK. It turned out to be the perfect choice for us, and was great to have such a lovely base for several days of tiring, but massively fulfilling, walking around the amazing city of Rome.

I can only speak positively about this hotel: very classy, very well furnished, and full of lovely little touches (e.g. antique looking desk in room, shoe polishing kit in wardrobe). The room was a good size, comfortable and very well presented. We had read another Rome hotel review about the lift in the hotel being too small etc. With respect, I think the reviewer may have missed the point somewhat as the lift is a wonderful addition to the hotel, and has a charm of its own. Staff at the hotel were polite and very helpful, any requests were dealt with quickly even if they were busy.

Breakfast was very good with a good selection of options to fill you up for your day of walking through Rome, including hot food which is always welcome. Get to the breakfast room early as it becomes very busy after 7.30-45am and itís not the biggest breakfast room. The hotel's location is excellent, easily located within 5 minutes walk of termini station (its right at the far end of Via Vicenza) and Termini is a helpful landmark to find your way back to the hotel from wherever you are in the city of Rome. In terms of the other areas of interest in Rome, the hotel is no more than 20-30 minutesí walk from most Rome tourist attractions. The Vatican is a longer walk, so we caught the Metro/Underground (very easy) from Termini to the Vatican City(awesome place!) as we wanted to be there early to avoid the queues. A lovely stay in the lovely Best Western BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy.
