Ciampino Airport Rome relative to Fiumicino Airport and Termini station.

Ciampino airport Rome is the smaller of the two Rome airports by far and is the hub for most low cost airlines. Rome International Airport (Fiumicino Airport) takes the lions share of Air Traffic.

Ciampino Airport is situated in Ciampino about 16 km (10 miles) South East of Rome city centre. The Airport and the city centre are connected by:

With Rome buses and shuttles

The cheapest and most reliable shuttle buses are Schiaffini (€5 single), Terravision (€6 single) and Sitbus (€5 single). All go from Ciampino Airport Rome to Termini Station, Rome city center.
Termini Railway Station (at the top of Esquiline and Quirinal areas) is also the crossing point for the two Rome Metro routes a main bus terminal and also the starting point for most of the Rome tourist buses. There is also a taxi rank.

Sitbus (www.sitbusshuttle.it) also sells tickets online.
Schiaffini sells tickets on the bus.
Terravision tickets can be bought on the plane and on their website (www.terravision.eu). Terravision's shuttle times are in sync with the arrival times of the low cost carriers.

All of the private shuttle buses have offices in the arrivals section of the airport. You can't miss them, you will literally walk out of the arrivals hall facing their boxes. (There is also an exchange bureaux in the arrivals hall.)

Rome taxis

The taxi stand is immediately outside arrivals.
There is a standard fee of 30€. This is for 4 people including luggage from Ciampino Airport Rome to any destination within the ancient Rome city wall.

Legal taxis are white and have an identifying taxi number on the chassis.
