The Conca Park Hotel Sorrento Italy was well situated, with a beautiful view of the Bay and Mt. Vesuvius, yet only a few minutes walk to the main part of town. We stayed for a week and enjoyed it very much.

The entrance and public rooms are very impressive. The hotel staff were very friendly and and very helpful giving directions, etc, and they provided a ride up from the street level through the tunnel in a little electric cart.

The public areas of the hotel were like that of a 5 star hotel. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the sea - an extraordinary view.

Our only criticism would be with the bathroom and the room itself, which is more like that of a 3 star hotel: very small shower with bad water pressure, only plastic glasses, little space to put toiletries; we had to request soap and another shower cap. It was very "minimalistic". The TV was very small and there were no bedside lamps for reading. These are small details but they make a difference. If these little details were changed, the Conca Park Hotel Sorrento Italy could be a 5 star hotel.
Nonetheless if we were to return to Sorrento, we would probably go back to the Conca Park Hotel Sorrento Italy.

The hotel's views are out across Sorrento and to Naples - really wonderful. The Conca Park Hotel Sorrento Italy is very pleasant and is in a good location with a short walk to all the Sorrento restaurants and shops, but without the noise.
The dining room staff are delightful and the food was generally nice. However the hotel is frequently used by large conference groups which dominate the hotel and would make it unpleasant for, a couple wanting to relax.

Pluses: The Conca Park Hotel Sorrento Italy was within easy walking distance of the train station, a good continental breakfast was included, the hotel lobby was beautiful and the front desk staff friendly, and the hotel was reasonably priced for the Sorrento area (we paid about $120/night)

Minuses: Hotel room looked like it was from 1970. The bed was a little uncomfortable, the walls were thin - could hear traffic in hallway and phone ringing in neighboring room.

 

Hotel Sorrento Italy

Desiree located in Sorrento is perched on a cliff with a splendid panoramic view of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius. A private elevator gives access to the beach which is situated in a secluded small bay at the foot of the hotel. All rooms have en-suite bathroom and telephone. Included are a roof garden, bar, central heating and private parking. The city centre and port of Sorrento are close at hand.

The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about things to do around Sorrento and Capri. They gave us maps and bus / cruise timetables, highlighting the routes and must-see attractions. This definitely helped us a lot as I had done minimal reading on things to do in Sorrento.

Most importantly, the staff went out of their way when we needed help. I was confused about the hotel's location and had wrongly booked in another city. As I could not speak or understand Italian very well, Vincenzo, at reception, made numerous calls to my wrongly-booked hotel, and then spent another half hour trying to book me another hotel. After all his help, he refused to accept any tips!

The room itself was lovely, with views over the hotel's private beach. The hotel is clean and peaceful. Cat lovers will enjoy the two fat cats roaming the hotel grounds.

For a reasonably priced and delicious meal you can stroll next door to La Tonnarella's restaurant. The balcony table has spectacular views of Sorrento's bays and a sillouette of Capri!

They made us feel special the moment we arrived, they even sent a small bottle of champagne to our room when they found out it was our honeymoon! Aldo gave us advice for our further adventures, and helped us arrange travels. Fantastic!

The rooms are average hotel rooms, but the VIEWS! AHHH! I would have sat and watched the ocean from our room all day long ...Breakfast was superb with breathtaking views as well!

Its an easy 20 minute walk to town.
Don't waste your time on the buses, boats are the way to go on the Amalfi coast. We took them from one town to another for our whole stay and never had a bad experience. THANK YOU HOTEL DESIREE for such a fantastic stay!!!

I can recommend hotel Desiree Sorrento Italy for: An amazing honeymoon or Romantic getaway, older travelers, families with younger children or teenagers.

I would hesitate to recommend hotel Desiree Sorrento Italy for: Young singles, People with disabilities or Pet owners

 

Bristol Hotel Sorrento Italy

The Bristol Hotel Sorrento rests against a seaside cliff. It has impressive views over the Bay of Naples right from the picturesque fishing village of Marina Grande to the Punta Scutolo across the bay where you can see Mt. Vesuvius with Pompei and Naples below.

The Bristol Hotel consists of 3 interconnecting buildings and 90% of the rooms have spectacular sea views. (Make sure you confirm that your room has a sea view when you book). Junior suites have large terraces, and some even have a small outdoor jacuzzi.

There are also two elegantly refurbished restaurants (one is a roof-top restaurant offering Neapolitan dishes) a lounge and pool bar, a large garden and children's playground.

The Hotel Bristol succeeds in conveying a sincere and caring warmth of the highest standard to its guests.

Ours was a lovely week in the Bristol Hotel Sorrento Italy. I chose the Bristol hotel in Sorrento on the back of excellent reviews and was not disappointed. The views leave you speachless and the food was of a much higher standard than we expected for a half board basis.

Our room was very spacious and clean, and this standard of cleanliness was maintained throughout the whole hotel. The staff were brilliant, the hotel made our holiday special. We will definitely return soon.

I would recommend Bristol Hotel Sorrento Italy for: An amazing honeymoon or romantic getaway, girlfriends getaway, older travelers (it has a great pool area and scene), families traveling with young children or teenagers, and generally speaking for all tourists.

I would hesitate to recommend Bristol Hotel Sorrento Italy for: Young singles or people with disabilities.

The rooms are good but try to get a suite in the main building, they have the best rooms! We had a beautiful large room with a great view, a balcony and another bedroom for our son. The rooms have more or less everything you would need, including a mini bar, hair dryer and the usual toiletries.

The staff are very helpful - we were originally meant to go to the Hotel Minerva for our second week but the Bristol hotel in Sorrento was so much superior that we decided to stay - I can't understand why these 2 hotels are priced the same?!

Overall the hotel is very clean and the roof top pool was beautiful. I wished that it could have been open longer (closes at 6pm). The food was also good and the service from Matteo and his staff in the dining hall was exceptional.

The outside road is very busy and can be quite tricky to cross, so it's not that suitable for families with younger children. It's just a short walk to the main town (5-10 mins max)

The hotel grounds are spacious and include a large outdoor pool, indoor & outside bar, large indoor lounge and lovely outdoor sitting areas to just relax and absorb the amazing views. There is also a gym (although rather small), a mini golf course: very mini - only 5 holes, and a hillside garden with even better views of the bay - it also has lemon trees.

There is a supermarket which is only 5 minutes walk away where you can get something extra. The food was good for half board and we appreciated the flexibility of being able to have lunch instead of dinner. Breakfast was buffet style plus you could order eggs if you liked. Certainly plenty of choice available and definitely more so than anywhere else we stayed in Italy.
3 course meals in the evenings, and starters were by far the best course. So the following evening I asked for 2 starters instead of a main course and they were ok with this.

Note: When you order drinks they are added to your tab and then you pay at the end (can be very dangerous!!) Unfortunately with the present poor exchange rate and high prices the drinks worked out to be rather expensive (3 euros for soft drink and 4 euros for a small beer).

The evening entertainment was excellent, plus the bar has a lovely balcony where you can relax and watch the views while listening. The singer was quite popular so arrive early! Overall the Bristol Hotel Sorrento Italy is excellent and we had a lovely relaxing stay on the lovely Amalfi coast.
